  1. Have you changed your air filters?

Changing your air filters every 30 days will help keep your HVAC units running smoothly. If they’re clogged and dirty, this puts extra stress on the units and may cause them to work inefficiently and ineffectively.

PRO TIP: Buy the cheaper air filters. They work just as well, and in many cases, are better for the units!

  1. Are your vents obstructed?

Make sure yours vents are clear and unobstructed. Sometimes we find that furniture or other decorative items are blocking or partially blocking vents which will cause certain rooms to not cool and/or heat properly while also putting unnecessary strain on the unit.

  1. Does your thermostat need new batteries?

Your TV remotes aren’t the only things that need new batteries every so often. If your thermostat is low on battery it may be causing irregularities with your heating and cooling systems. It’s best practice to change the batteries (most take AA) once a year.

  1. Are you leaving your doors open?

To ensure proper airflow throughout the home, it is best practice to leave the doors open to all rooms as often as you can. This is especially important when you leave the home for work or a vacation.
